Wood & Grieve is committed to influencing positive change in our local communities. We’re excited to announce our latest initiative this June 2015 as the WGE Enduro team undertake an epic charity journey.
Two years ago at a Wood & Grieve Engineers’ principals planning weekend, Ben van Niekerk and Angus Grant resolved to test their endurance with a motorbike ride between Perth and Darwin. After much talking, dreaming and planning, an adventure motorcyclist team was put together which now includes David Simpson plus an IT savvy support vehicle driver, Tom Campbell-Clause.
The Enduro team will be embarking on this epic 6000km adventure from Darwin to Perth commencing on 16 June 2015.
“We’re proud to use this campaign to support ‘at risk’ WA children, their families and communities. Help us make a difference.”
Though this may be the journey of a lifetime for the group, the focus is towards creating adventures for others.
The WGE Enduro team is proud to use this campaign to raise awareness and funding to support for the Edmund Rice Camps programs. Edmund Rice Camps WA (ERCWA) is the perfect charity of choice for the trip, as this non-profit organisation provides vital programs for respite, opportunities and adventures for “at risk “children, their families and WA communities.
The 6000km journey will be an ultimate test of stamina, resolve and character as the WGE Enduro team ride for 17 days from Darwin to Perth.
The journey will take them across a mix of rugged off-road trails, beautiful coastlines, the West Australian desert and plenty of bitumen.
Along the way the team intend to stop at particular remote communities where ERCWA delivers its programs and to meet some of the volunteer crew and young people face to face.
During the trip the team will be posting ‘live action’ blog and social media updates, so you can follow their progress as part of your pledge or donation.
Wood & Grieve Engineers is dedicated to supporting this cause through the WGE Enduro team. WGE is passionate about driving positive change for local communities, with this journey embodying WGE’s motto “to us, it’s more than just work”.
