Riding for a good cause

Wood & Grieve Engineers now part of Stantec (WGE) annual event is back again this year, with our Busselton Bike Ride happening on 22 November.

Celebrating the 13th anniversary of our annual bike ride from Perth to Busselton, around 40 WGE employees, clients, family members and friends will take to the road. Attracting all levels of riders, the day is a test of endurance that involves a 12-hour ride, departing from WGE’s Perth office and finishing at the Busselton office after clocking 250km. Whilst the ride is not a race, the traditional sprint finish along the Busselton foreshore is known to get competitive.

As part of WGE’s ongoing commitment to community causes and family, we will again be raising funds for the children of WGE’s past employee Justin Jordanoff. Sadly, Justin suddenly passed away last year leaving behind three young children. All money raised will again be going towards a dedicated fund for his children.

WGE’s Managing Director, José Granado says that WGE is committed to continue supporting projects and causes that make a difference.

“The Busselton Bike Ride is a great community initiative and a perfect opportunity to bring everyone together and make a contribution to a worthy cause while having fun,” said José.

To ensure everyone has the stamina required for the 250 kilometre journey, WGE will be organising a 12-week training schedule made up of short rides around the metropolitan area for those who are interested in participating.
