Liliana started her career in 1988 as a graduate engineer working for a large mining company in Bulgaria. In 1991 she migrated to Australia and settled in Perth which was a major milestone in her life.
In 1994 she joined the electrical services team at WGE, shortly after Liliana was promoted to an Electrical Project Engineer and became a Principal of the firm. During this time she started developing the underground power design (UPD) services which has become an independent section and to date this has consistently been one of the most successful sections in WGE nationally.
Liliana has maintained a dual role in the company as both the UPD Section Manager and as an Electrical Project Engineer managing large and complex projects with a leading role and coordination of multidiscipline involved.
In her role as a Project Engineer and Section Manager she engages with staff both in her section and more broadly in the company in an informal coaching role developing technical and consulting skills. The culture of WGE has inspired Liliana to be involved with the “Future Talent Development” as she strongly believes that our people make us who we are! She loves working with young engineers and helping to train and develop their skills. Liliana finds it extremely challenging and fulfilling to see them learn and grow to the level that they take leadership roles themselves.
Liliana is an active member of many review committees including the Western Power Connection Manual Working Group and the Office of Energy Licensing Board. Liliana has been heavily involved with the Illumination Engineers Society and the Australian Institute of Architects, having sat on the committee and participated as a judge for their Awards.
For over 20 years Liliana has been an active member of Engineers of Australia (EA) and has recently been elected to the grade of Fellow, the highest possible recognition available to professionals in the industry, a recognition that WGE are particularly proud of.
My personal involvement with my clients and the relationships I have developed with contractors, suppliers, authorities and other associates in the industry allows me to not only leave a lasting impression but also achieve incomparable outcome for all of my projects.
Liliana is an easy going person who loves travelling, outdoor activities, cooking and always on the go with her family and friends.
