CEO calls for support in preparation for sleepout

Wood & Grieve Engineers’ (WGE) top brass will be roughing it for one night on Thursday 21 June, all in support of the St Vincent de Paul Society.

José Granado has signed up to support the Vinnie’s in this year’s CEO Sleepout, an event which sees business leaders sleep outdoors to raise awareness and funds for the homeless.

Returning for the second year, José joins 80 individuals who will be participating in 2018.  So far, the Perth sleepout has raised $188,000 across 960 supporters, comprising about seven percent of the national funds raised.

Having set a target of $5,000, José has already surpassed his goal with over $7,500 raised so far – an incredible achievement, adding to his $10,000 raised in 2014.  You can donate to José’s efforts by CLICKING HERE.

“My previous experiences at the CEO sleepout has given me an appreciation for how tough it can be for people who are homeless, particularly in the cold winter months, and the great work that St Vincent de Paul are doing to help those in need,” José said.

“While it seems an odd thing to say, I’m looking forward to the experience again this year.  It’s a great initiative and wonderful to see that our small part can play a significant role in helping those less fortunate, simply by bringing awareness and raising much needed funds.”

The Perth sleepout raised more than $600,000 last year, which helped Vinnies to provide:

  • 375 safe nights of sleep for people in need of beds
  • 276 nights of emergency accommodation to people in crisis
  • 3,453 nights of accommodation to people living with a mental illness
  • Helped 1,335 people at risk of eviction remain in their homes and repair their circumstances
  • Offered support to hundreds of young people
