Hock has extensive experience in the planning, design and management of major transport and infrastructure projects in Australia and Asia. Virtual Reality brings project to life

WGE’s Acoustics team in Melbourne have been testing virtual reality (VR) software to allow clients and stakeholders to experience what a project will look and sound like – before it gets built! The team are currently working with Gray Puksand Architects on the Prahran High School for the Department of Education. Gaining an understanding: cladding material, how do they really perform?

Since the Lacrosse Dockland Fire in November 2014, scrutiny over building façades materials has significantly increased.  The Victorian Building Authority released several practice notes clarifying the requirements of the Building Code of Australia regarding the construction of building façades. In accordance with the Deemed-to-Satisfy Provisions of the Building Code of Australia, combustible cladding may be used on external façades of a building in restricted circumstances. Ten year anniversary celebrations for Perth to Busselton Bike Ride

WGE is celebrating the tenth anniversary of the annual charity bike ride from Perth to Busselton. On Friday 4 November, a team of 35 riders will depart WGE’s Perth office on Adelaide Terrace, finishing at the Busselton office after clocking 250km. The day is a test of endurance that involves about 12 hours on the road and whilst it’s not a race, the traditional sprint finish along the Busselton foreshore is known to get competitive. WGE Senior Hydraulic Engineer, Dr Houman Tamaddon is preparing a white paper on the effects of pressure reduction valve (PRV) stations subjected to very high water pressure. This is in response to industry demands for taller buildings with reduced plant space. Sydney team welcomes new Fire Engineering Section Manager
