466-472 Oxford St is an iconic address located in Sydney’s eastern suburb of Bondi Junction. The building is located within the Oxford St mall in the historic heart of the commercial and retail precinct.
The intent of the project was to provide a high level of commercial and retail facilities to attract boutique high profile retail stores and provide flexible commercial tenancy spaces. WGE provided the mechanical, electrical, sustainability, hydraulic and fire protection services for this exciting project.
The project comprised the construction of a new building that contained two levels of underground carparking, two levels of retail premises, and five levels of commercial space. The project was in immediate proximity to the Bondi Junction Interchange and underground train line which meant the busy nature of the area was a challenge to overcome.
Even though no formal certification was ever sought, sustainability was at the fore front of all the design decisions. Being a mixed use development the building was designed in line with the Green Building Council of Australia’s Green Star guidelines as well as NABERS guidelines.
Subsequently to the documentation of the base building project, WGE have been engaged to undertake the office fitout of level five and the fitout of retail premises for the William Sonoma store.
