Footscray Central Activities District (FCAD)

A new $350m mixed use development being delivered in the heart of Footscray is part of the revitalisation of the Footscray Central Activity area in Melbourne.  The project will change the face of Footscray. In the first phase a 14 level, 20 000 m2 A grade office building that will dominate the skyline is being delivered.  The building offers spectacular views of the Melbourne CBD and is set to provide an inspiring home for its occupants.

The state of the art building offers superior indoor air quality through its underfloor air conditioning system and other sustainable initiatives.

The building has achieved a 5 star Greenstar Design rating and is targeting an equivalent As-built rating. Other key credentials are a 4.5 Star NABERS Energy rating for the base building and 5 Star NABERS water rating for the whole building.

The building will be tenanted by Department of Justice, City West Water and State Trustees.

WGE were responsible for the base building and fit-out design services.  3D spatial planning for the larger services has proved invaluable through the construction process, allowing for minimal on-site changes.

Commissioning of the main plant will be underway early 2014 with construction due for completion later in 2014.

The Melbourne team are proud to have been involved in this significant project and are currently involved in the stage 2 design works.
