Announced at a gala function on the weekend, the awards showcase the very best in urban development across the state and drive design, innovation and sustainability.
UDIA WA CEO Allison Hales said the urban development industry is building communities for today and into the future. “It is critical that we lead the way for continual improvement and showcase the diversity and talent that is a key feature of our industry,” she said.
WGE were involved in two award-winning projects recognised by the UDIA:
Yolk Property Group’s Established development in Fremantle was awarded the Rising Star award
WGE is providing structural, acoustics and sustainability engineering for 19 apartments with sustainable and energy efficient design. The judges were particularly impressed by the excellent outcomes that have been achieved on a challenging site for owners, occupiers, joint venture partners and the surrounding community.
Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority won the Urban Renewal Award for Elizabeth Quay
WGE have had long-term involvement in Perth’s iconic waterfront development, from the forward planning and infrastructure works, to the public realm and now the buildings that are planned or under construction on the site. The judges said they could not look past the significant transformation of the Perth waterfront, which is attracting international investment and creating a foundation for new economic development opportunities in the surrounding area.
WGE Director, Darren Pesich said that the Awards represent the excellent outcomes achieved in projects across WA.
“We are very proud to have been involved in not one, but two of WA’s best property developments,” he said.
“Congratulations to our clients and all involved in these exciting and innovative projects.”
